Community Outreach
Calvary currently has several avenues of outreach to the community and we are developing more to positively impact people's lives.
Summer Program
The Summer Program is geared towards the growth and development of the youth. A full scale summer program is operated annually where children of all ages are enriched spiritually, physically, socially and academically. We also partner with the Nassau County Youth Board to provide free lunches during the summer for children under the age of eighteen. Print Application Download Brochure

Conferences
Minister Robert Stewart and his committee host the Tri-State Gospel Music Association Annual Conference, attracting thousands of people from across the nation. Tri-State has been the only forum in Nassau County where young people are compensated for their musical talents through voice training, diction, scholarships and monetary awards. The fellowship shared in these conferences by young people around the world is phenomenal.
Calvary Tabernacle Choir
The choir continues to minister at various community and official events. Our accolades include ministering at both Inauguration ceremonies for Nassau County Executive, Hon Thomas R. Suozzi. Inspired by Holy Spirit and the County Executive tremendous victories, our Prophetic Minister, Robert Stewart, wrote the song "The Time is Now and The Place is Here." This brought in focus (time), Calvary's spiritual mandate to be the center of apostolic activity in Nassau County (place). The choir was also a featured guest at The Six Fags Christian Festival, Nassau County's 9-11 Memorial Service and is also featured at the African American Museum's remembrance ceremony of the slave ship Henrietta Marie.
Handmaidens
Calvary has also given birth to "Handmaidens", our annual women's conference, ministering to the growth and development of women in this community and beyond.
Thanksgiving and Christmas
Under the leadership of Claudette Harrison, we provide baskets and meals to those in need at Thanksgiving, serving them on the premises, or making home and institutional deliveries. In addition, we host our Children's Christmas Community Party providing gifts, food and entertainment to over 250 children in the community each year.
Summary
Calvary has sought to impact the community as well as build a church for the saving of souls. The church has been a source of empowerment as members have upgraded their thinking and behaviors to come in harmony with the "Mind of Christ." They have experienced elevation in their faith, family, finances and their future. Through the years, the church has consistently offered ministerial and counseling services to congregants and the wider community. It has now positioned itself, by the upgrading of its facilities, to be a greater blessing to all who "Come to Calvary...The Way to God."
