| Eligibility At the time of enrollment to Wohali Academy, the student must live in Greenville County. The school’s psycho-educational model is most appropriate for youth (from grades K-5—12th grade with IQ 65 or higher) who persistently demonstrate one or more the following behaviors:
- Student threatens the safety of themselves or others.
- Evidence the student cannot be successfully maintained in a regular school setting.
- Student whose severity of behavior is persistent in spite of continued interventions.
- Student’s condition has improved at another more restrictive or specialized placement to the point that a step down placement to a therapeutic school is appropriate.
- Student has a history of substance abuse and/or dependency.
- Chronic running away accompanied by self-endangering tendencies.
- Highly impulsive/explosive behaviors.
- Depression and/or severe mood and thought disorders.
- Involvement in or obsessive thoughts of inappropriate sexual behaviors.
- Severe impairment in organization skills, ability to complete school assignments, ability to focus and concentrate resulting in the inability to take advantage of the school environment.
