Purpose

Worship

We believe that the worship of God, our Creator, and our Savior is the highest duty and the greatest privilege of a Christian. Because of who He is and what He has done, we honor, exalt and praise Him and dedicate our whole beings to Him. Every breath, thought, deed, possession and motive has the potential of being worship. Worship is more than a Sunday morning experience. It is a lifestyle rooted in Scripture that brings glory to God. Worship is characterized by: praise & thanksgiving, prayerfulness, music/singing, communion, preaching the Word of God, obedience, baptism, tithing, cheerful giving, serving and much more as found in Scripture.

Outreach/Evangelism

We believe the Scripture calls each of us to share the gospel message to everyone, everywhere. We believe that the responsibility for outreach and evangelism is not that of just the Pastor, but also the responsibility of the people in the church. Additionally, we believe that God, as demonstrated through the life of Jesus Christ, is concerned for the whole person. Therefore, we are committed to reaching out to those who do not know Christ in a holistic manner. We desire first and foremost to meet a person’s spiritual needs by compassionately, faithfully and clearly presenting the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We also endeavor to meet the very real physical and emotional needs of those in our community in tangible ways such as through our Food Pantry. In addition to our local community we are committed to supporting the work of foreign missions.

Discipleship/Equipping

We believe that it is important to create an environment, through intentional means, that will encourage and enable believers to: 1) grow in becoming more and more like Jesus Christ and 2) grow in their abilities to serve in the local church and community as God has gifted them. That is God’s intention for us that He has revealed in His Word (Ro. 8:28-29; Eph. 4:11-13). This will happen in two ways. First, we are committed to providing good, consistent opportunities for people to grow such as Bible studies, one-on-one mentoring, Scripture memorization and skills training. Second, we are committed to strong, Biblical leadership that will both model the life of Christ and actively equip His people for service.

Fellowship/Community

We believe in commitment to the local church. We acknowledge and are committed to the Scriptural teaching that we are all interconnected and interdependent members of Christ’s body (Eph. 4; 1Co. 12). We share a common purpose and each person makes an important contribution to the whole, by the grace of Christ. Christian fellowship is all about relationships rooted in Christ and is demonstrated through: regularly gathering together, serving together, praying for one another, loving one another as Christ has loved us, considering others as more important than ourselves, integrity in all relationships, strengthening and encouraging each other, inviting others into our lives with transparency, bearing each others’ burdens and giving of our resources to the work of Christ.
