Food Pantry
For those in our local and surrounding communities, we through our partnership with Hinsdale Community Service and Christ Church of Oak Brook offer a 100% choice food pantry to all who may be in need. With costs continuing to soar, there is an increase need in assisting those in our community to make ends meet. Helping our neighbors is an awarding venture and a fulfillment of "Love your neighbor as yourself."
We have many opportunities to demonstrate our love of neighbor. One may want to help set up the food pantry Wednesday evenings starting at 6:00 p.m. Volunteers are need every Thursday to help stock shelves, pick up donated items, assist our neighbors, and assit in taking the grociers out, or man the Bible table. Our food pantry operates every Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and on the fourth Saturday of each month from 8:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
If donating time is a difficulty, the food pantry is looking for donations of non-perishable and perishable food items, cleaning products, personel hygiene, and other miscellaneous items. Please feel free to call the churh for further information.
AWANA Children's Club
During the school year, Awana is in full gear. We minister to children 5 years of age through 6th grade. We help build good character in the kids through solid Bible teaching, games, and other activities. We encourage them to memorize Scripture, invite friends, listen to special guest, and raise awareness of the world around them.
If you have a child who fits the description, stop on by and check us out. Look for information on this great ministry as the school year starts. Awana is from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays. If you have questions, please call the church office or email us at office@westmontchurch.com .
Youth
The youth are an important part of our community. During the school year, the Jr. High (7th & 8th graders) meets on Wednesday nights, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., with the Sr. High meeting Sunday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. For more information, feel free to click on the link, Youth, on top of the page.
Alliance Women
Ladies, this is a great ministry to meet other women. The Alliance Women generally meet monthly, taking a small break during the summer. Besides enjoying the great fellowship, the ladies keep up-to-date on our missionaries, providing care packages, correspondance, and raising awareness of needs for the missionaries on the field.
Bible Studies / Small groups in homes
Excitingly, we have two Bible Studies and two small groups. One Bible study is for men and is held every Tuesday morning starting at 8:30 a.m. in the church facility. Another is every Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. at 218 S. Park St in Westmont. The two home-based small groups meet the second and fourth Sunday of every month from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. (contact church office for specific location since these groups rotate homes)
