Obituarys

     
    Thomas E. Borges, 62, of Mattapoisett died May 30, 2009 unexpectedly at home.
    Born in Wareham, the son of the late Manuel Borges, Jr. and Irene Eva  (Morgado) Borges, he lived all of his life in Mattapoisett, a town he  loved.
Mr. Borges loved his job as a heavy equipment operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #4 for 39 years.
    He enjoyed fishing and passing time with friends at the dock. He was a  member of the Historical Construction Equipment Association Northeast  Rockbusters.
    Survivors include his fiancée, Beverly B. Harris of Mattapoisett; his  son, Thomas M. Borges of Mattapoisett; a sister, Nancy Guard of  Fairhaven; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was the brother of the late Gloria Power.
    His Graveside Service will be held on Saturday at 12:15 p.m. in St.  Anthony’s Cemetery, Mattapoisett. His family will receive guests on  Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home
