M y work has shifted many times in the last several years...and the journey has been and continues to be a wonderful adventure. I began hand painting sweatshirts in 1987 for family, friends, and for myself. Over the years a reputation developed as family and friends began looking forward to receiving these special "customized" gifts. And so it began...slowly and steadily as more and more requests came for me to paint shirts for others...a business developed. I n 1996 I took the plunge, acquired a tax ID, and began marketing my hand painted shirts at the specialty boutique where I was employed. They were well received...and by the next season it turned into a thriving part time operation. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
D uring this time many shifts began taking place in my life as I began searching for "something more"...knowing all along that there was a divine order to the world about me...and needing to learn how to apply that knowledge in my own life. As they say...when the student is ready...the teacher will appear. In my case...many, many teachers appeared...and now I would venture to say that every person I meet is a teacher. A whole new world emerged as I worked on expanding my awareness...along with a wonderful new community of spiritual friends whose main focus is to love, nurture, and otherwise help each other re-member the divine beings that we are. New ways of thinking began to replace outdated beliefs...all of a sudden I found myself letting go of the fear that held me back for so long. I n the fall of 2000 I quit my job and began painting clothing full time. I took my shirts to craft fairs every weekend (with the help of my dear friend and wonderful companion Dale). I began painting "spirit animals" such as bears, wolves and eagles on denim shirts. I painted whimsical dragonflies and lady bugs, I painted "Old Glory" on denim shirts, I painted fall leaves and Halloween designs and of course my trademark...I painted glittery snowflake and holiday designs. Again, it was well received and I sold many, many shirts. A s my business grew it began shifting once again...I was incredibly inspired by all the wonderful people in my spiritual community. I started creating and printing, using a combination of artwork and graphics, designs and messages reflecting the many areas of increasingly higher awareness. And so, with spirit leading the way now, I began designing not only to help increase awareness...and raise vibrations...but to offer a form of expression for all of us who are choosing to re-member that we are all “sparks" of the divine in the form of teachers, healers, and way-showers.
