Although this particular labyrinth gained fame at the Chartres Cathedral in France...variations of this medieval eleven-path labyrinth were widespread long before it's use there. It is not a maze, but a single continuous path - with patterns of sacred geometry taking you on a journey to the center...the source of creation... and back out again. It is an ancient symbol of balance and wholeness. Walking a labyrinth will quiet the mind - bringing you to a place of calmness where you can elevate consciousness, connect with higher guidance, receive answers and facilitate physical and/or emotional healing.

Labyrinths have long been used as meditation and prayer tools...they have been associated with ancient pilgrimage routes and rituals of self-discovery...and they have been worn as a forms of protection and ornamentation. Also, they were often carved on doorways to bless a dwelling place.

This t-shirt is both decorative and functional at the same time...although you cannot physically walk this labyrinth with your legs...you might try using a stick or a twig and contemplate your intentions as you trace your way to the center...and back out again. A smaller version of the same design is on the back of the shirt.

Application of original artwork is done by professional heat transfer. This is an opaque transfer paper which allows me to cover darker colors...it has a slightly stiffer feel than the translucent paper. However, the color is awesome...and retains the original vividness washing after washing.
