The roots of Troutman Painting Inc. date back to 1960 when Harvey M Troutman decided to start his own painting business. After working as a painter for a local company, Harvey’s hard work and aspirations to be his own boss finally paid off when Harvey M Troutman Painting was started. Harvey’s business experience operating a shoe store in Sinking Spring helped Harvey realize the importance of taking care of his customers and providing excellent customer service.
Throughout the 1960’s, Harvey built relationships with many construction companies and residential customers throughout Berks County. Word continued to spread fast on the quality and service of painting provided by Harvey M Troutman painting. Working with customers was always a great experience for Harvey and his customers. Harvey’s personality and ability to create relationships with his customers was a key to the success of his business.
As Harvey M Troutman Painting continued to grow, his family did as well. His oldest son John became interested in the business early in his life. John quickly learned how to be a quality painter and business man much like his father Harvey. In 1976, Harvey’s youngest son Dennis started to work in the business and they became H.M. Troutman and Sons. The addition of Dennis strengthened their ability to provide their customers with quality workmanship and customer service.
| The growth of H.M Troutman & Sons created the need to add additional painters to their company. It was always the goal of the company to hire quality, trust worthy painters. Working side by side with their painters, insured that the jobs were being completed in a timely manner with the highest quality. Throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s John and Dennis along with Harvey owned and operated every facet of the business and eventually became Troutman Painting Inc. The year 2000 marked a third generation of Troutman’s becoming involved in the business. Some say that John Troutman Jr. (John’s son) was born with a paint brush in his hand. John Jr. started working as painter during the summer and eventually realized that he also had the dream of being his own boss, much like Harvey’s dream. Today, you will find John Jr. running the day to day operations of the business with the assistance of his father, John Sr. Dennis continues to manage and work the jobs in the field. On some days, you might even catch a glimpse of Harvey hanging wallpaper or painting trim. At the age of 82, Harvey’s work ethic and business philosophy continues to be true inspiration to his family. Specializing in residential, commercial and industrial painting and paper hanging, Troutman Painting Inc. continues to strive to provide their customers with quality service and workmanship. With a staff of experienced and long term employees, we are positioned to continue to grow and accommodate all of our customers for years to come.
