Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I am interested in selling my boat; can you help me?

A: Tri-State Performance Marine offers consignment / brokerage services so that you don’t need to worry about the hassles of selling your boat. A member of our sales staff can help you determine pricing, advertise your boat and give you advice if necessary. To set up a sales consultation, please contact our Sales Department directly.

Q: How long will it take me to sell my boat?

A: The average boat sells within 1 – 3 months of being listed, but certain boats are in higher demand and can sell much faster as well as command high resale price. Sellers should be patient, and understand that finding the right buyer for your boat can take some time.

Q: What is your service labor rate?

A: Apart from the cost of parts, all repairs will be charged a $120/ hr labor rate.

Q: What are the advantages of having my boat listed on the Internet?

A: The Internet offers sellers the opportunity to reach a larger audience worldwide for selling their boats. Tri-State Performance Marine lists all of our pre-owned and brokered boats on our Web site as well as the major boating magazines, online classified sites such as Boatrader.com, Usedboats.com and Eboats.com. This means your boat can be seen 24/7 by thousands of people both nationwide and worldwide.

Q: Do you take trades?

A: Yes but only select, late model mint condition boats. We also offer an exclusive service that enables you to let Tri-State broker your boat instead of only getting trade-in value. It works like this ... We broker and market your current boat until it sells. If you are purchasing a new boat from us, there will be NO COMMISSION FEES attached to your brokered boat sale. This means you GET AND KEEP TOP DOLLAR for your pre-owned boat and can put the total funds towards the purchase of your new boat. You are happy because you netted much more than the trade-in value (as well as a lower taxable amount on the new boat purchase) and we are happy because we made a new client happy plus sold a new boat at the same time ... IT’S A WIN-WIN DEAL.
