DANCE CLASS INFORMATION
OBSERVED HOLIDAYS Labor Day, September 1, 2008 (This is the only Monday holiday the school observes.) Thanksgiving, November 26-28, 2008 Christmas, December 22, 2008 January 1, 2009 Dekalb County Spring Break, April 13 17 Classes are held on all other school holidays and teacher work days. No Monday holidays are observed by PINK Dance Studio with the exception of Labor Day. When weather conditions close the schools, classes will be held AS LONG AS the streets are clear at class time. Please call the studio to confirm class in the case of bad weather.
CLASS APPAREL Girls Ballet & Jazz: Standard uniform black leotard, pink tights and pink shoes. Other solid color leotards may also be worn for ballet class. Any leotard, tights or jazz pants may be worn for jazz class, but not baggy shirts. Hair should be in a bun for ballet and neatly secured for other classes. No large jewelry should be worn to class. Outside of class, street clothes or appropriate cover-up should be worn. HIP HOP: Tank top or sleeveless shirt, jazz pants, tennis shoes or jazz sneakers. Boys: Solid color t-shirt, black tights or jazz pants, ballet or jazz shoes. Shoes: No street shoes should be worn in the dance studio and dance shoes should not be worn outside. No Shorts or T-Shirts Allowed in Dance Class!!!
FAMILY WEEK We will have a family/visitors week, December 15th 18th. Parents are invited to come and observe their daughters class during that week.
RECITAL Our recital will be held each year in May. Students must be present for dress rehearsal in order to participate in the recital. The rehearsal schedule of times will be given in the Spring. Dancers should come in full costume to dress rehearsal. Recital Costume fees will be due before Christmas. Every student must have a $0 balance to participate in the recital. The recital fee will be $15 for each student. The recital fee will be due by March 1st. Recital pictures will be held in the Spring. Programs will be sold at the recital.
PINK COMPANY DANCE INFORMATION Company auditions are held at various times throughout the year. Senior division Company Dancers 9th through 12th grade Company dancers are selected by invitation only. The selection is primarily based on dance ability; other criteria include performance ability, attitude and attendance. In some cases, dancers are chosen because of a tremendous strength in one area of dance.
