Central Oregon has an amazing abundance of diverse and interesting attractions.  This section of our website will present the best of these attractions - those in the "don't miss," "must-see" category.  A visit (or re-visit) to these most inspiring places will leave residents and visitors alike with a true appreciation for the flavor and essence of the High Desert. 

Some of our focus will be on the region's volcanic past and the natural wonders resulting from the earth’s upheaval - craters, cinder cones, lava tubes, and obsidian flows. 

Among other wonders of the regional topography, these pages will lead you to water, simultaneously a precious commodity and a source of great entertainment.  Our many rivers and streams delight us with picture-perfect waterfalls, serious whitewater and outstanding fishing.  The stunningly beautiful lakes of the high desert and the high mountain ranges engage the mind's eye and the sportsman's heart.

Some of Central Oregon's most spectacular attractions are but a stone's throw from "headquarters," while visiting others may require driving a considerable distance.  Whether your destination is 5 miles away or 50, this section of our website will help you find your way there and back.  And, if you're lucky, maybe you'll get a little lost along the way.  Whether you're going, coming back or just trying to get your bearings, the scenery is spectacular in every direction.  Don't forget your camera and binoculars.  A GPS receiver might also be a handy thing to have along.
