Prayer of the Month
July 4th reminds us of picnics, band concerts, parades...flag waving, patriotic speeches, and fireworks! Let us take a close look at our country today...sadly, we are not what we once were nor do our values, precepts, and beliefs remain the same...let us ask our God to restore those things that we have held so dear. + + + + +
Dear God, our nation seems bent on eliminating religious values from our public life and culture. School prayer is banned, the Pledge of Allegiance is questioned, the Ten Commandments are removed from public buildings. The moral fabric of our nation rests on Biblical heritage but our culture is being cut off from the source of our morals. Bit by bit, our moral compass is being eliminated. Return us to the values of our founding fathers, and to the Word upon which they are based. Return us to be "one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." Amen.
Prayer For Ourselves O God, things will happen to me today that were not planned by me, or expected by me. Only a small part of my life is in my hands, but ALL of my life is in Yours. You are the only hope I have for forgiveness, for hope, for meaning in life, and for eternal life. And so I turn to You, with incomplete knowledge and with floundering faith, to ask You to forgive me,to be near me, and to guide my life. In Jesus' name. Amen. + + + + + Children's Prayer Corner Two little eyes to look to God; Two little ears to hear His Word; Two little feet to walk in His ways; Two little lips to sing His praise; Two little hands to do His will; And one little heart to love Him still. Amen. | |
