KID LINK, an Outreach Program of St. Luke's Church, has completed
its first full year of work with Harding Elementary, recently adopted as our neighborhood school.
We have had volunteers who, individually, work two or three
hours per week at the school. Their jobs consist of tutoring children
on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, listening to children read,
supervising activities that strengthen basic skills, and generally helping
the teacher to which they are assigned.
St. Luke's has financially made it possible for the Harding third
grade to experience a beneficial field trip. In addition, clothing has been
given to help where there is a need in meeting the required dress code
which became effective at mid-year.
We look forward to continuing all aspects of KID LINK in September.
