Finance Council Marty Gleason worked as a CPA from 1968 to 1993, retiring as a Partner in Charge of Consulting Practice . He was a founding partner of a Health Service Company and then served as a board member of that company until 2005. Marty and his wife Lenore moved from New Jersey to Hilton Head in 2001. They have 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren. Marty serves as Chairman of the Finance Council. Leigh Bullen has been a member since February 2004. He is a retired banking executive and is a CPA. Leigh and his wife, Patty, live in Hilton Head Plantation. He is responsible for chairing the Stewardship Committee, which includes members of the Pastoral Council and other selected personnel. Leigh also handles the Audit requirements of the parish. At his direction, the “Annual Audit” is handled by a qualified parishioner who is not a member of the Finance Council — as prescribed by the Diocesan Guidelines. Leigh also serves on the Long Range Planning Committee. Michael S. Pope moved permanently to Hilton Head with his wife in 2001. They have two sons, David in Iowa, and Brian on Hilton Head. He served as a supply officer in the United States Navy. Had a career in the financial services industry in various managerial and executive level positions. MIke served as an officer of the board of directors of the Rochester NY branch of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and on the corporate board of the YMCA'S of greater Rochester. His responsibility is for Cash Collections and Personnell Administration. Bob Oppenheimer has been a member since September 2005. In his earlier career, he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Operations Manager and Plant Manager in the printing ink industry. Since coming to the Island, he has been working in Real Estate sales. Bob and his wife, Janice, live in Hilton Head Plantation. His primary responsibility is to work in liaison with the School, specifically the principal and the school board, as a representative of the Council and the Church. Jean Schneiderwind has been a member since October of 2006. Before coming to this area, she worked at various hospitals serving as Director of Patient Accounts, which included personnel management, budgeting, admissions and collections. Since arriving here, she has acted as Business Manager and Accountant for a custom home builder from which she has recently retired. She lives on Hilton Head Island. She is responsible for Administrative matters for the council and also input of Finance Council data to the website. Joe McGovern: After 33 years, Joe retired from the FDIC where he started as a bank examiner, then moving to mid and upper management. His focus was analysis and monitoring of the financial health of banks.His Finance Committee responsibilities include administrative matters and audit of collections. Joe and his wife Audrey moved to Hilton Head in 2004 and became been a member of St. Francis. Joe volunteers at St. Francis Thrift Shop and is treasurer of his home owners association. |
