  Tricktionary

You got that look in your eye... The look that says "I wanna do more than just frontsides on curbs...I wanna go big". We feel ya dude, you are no ordinary soaper, neither are we. So here's a list of the tricks you can do on soaps. Practice em, get better, and add more flavor to your style. Who knows, you may just invent one that isn't even on the list.

Standard tricks

Tricks that can be done with any soapshoe

Frontside: The most basic trick. Both feet are flat on the rail after jumping forward into it.
Backside- Same as the frontside, except you jump backwards into the grind.
Royale- Both feet are tweaked forward so someone in front of you can see both plates. Knees are usually bent when doing a royale.
Farfegnugen- Both feet are tweaked back so someone in back of you can see both your plates. Knees are usually bent when doing a farf.
UFO- Knees are bent really low while both feet tweak outward away from each other.
Cab Driver- Knees are bent slightly to prevent falling while both feet are tweaked inward with the plates facing each other.
Fastslide- Soaper grinds on the front-foot only, while grabbing the back-foot. Weight
is centered over front-foot. Freestyle fastslides involve no grabbing of the back-foot.
Torque- Soaper grinds on the front-foot only and the front-foot is tweaked back. Weight is centered over that foot while the back-foot is being grabbed. Freestyle torques involve no grabbing of the backfoot.
Backslide- Soaper grinds on the back-foot being tweaked forward while front-foot is being grabbed. Freestyle backslides involve no grabbing of the front-foot
Christ Grind- Just like the backslide except the front-foot is placed on top of the back-foot.
Cheesegrater- Both feet are facing opposite directions when sliding forward. Sliding backwards in cheesegrater position is called an Alley-oop cheesegrater.
Unity- Back-foot lands on the rail first. Front-foot crosses that foot to the back. Feet end up crossed while sliding forward.
Sidewalk- Back-foot hooks over the rail sliding on the laces. Front-foot is brought forward and put onto the rail in normal position.
Acid Sidewalk- Same as the sidewalk, except front foot is turned into the switch (or acid) direction.

Sole-plate tricks

Tricks that can only be done with slipknot plates. (Found on the Broadside soapshoe)

Makio- Front-foot is on the sole plate while back-foot is grabbed with the opposite hand. Many variations of the makio include dragon/rocket, freestyle, fish, christ, and back-grab.
Mizuo- Always done backside, front-foot is on the sole plate while back-foot is on the standard plate in normal position.
Sweatstance- Always done frontside, front-foot is on the sole plate while back-foot is on the standard plate in normal position.
Mistrial- Front-foot is on the sole plate while back-foot is on the standard plate tweaked forward.
Pornstar- Front-foot is on the sole plate while back-foot is in back on the standard plate, facing the switch direction.
KindGrind- Front-foot is on the standard plate, while back-foot follows on the sole plate.
Soul- Front-foot is on the sole plate. Back-foot comes up in front and put on the rail facing the switch direction.
Soyale- Front-foot is on the sole plate. Back-foot comes up in front and put on the rail facing the switch direction. Back-foot (which is now in front) tweaks backwards.
Acid Soul- Front-foot is on the sole plate. Back-foot comes up in front and put on the rail, and is then turned into the acid direction.
Wheelbarrow- Similar to both the Sweatstance and Mizuo, except the front of the leading foot is lifted, sliding on the heel.
Crabslide- Both feet are on the sole plates but are facing opposite directions.
X Grind- Both feet are on the sole plates sliding in-line with each other.
