Job Description:  Summer 2012 Youth/Children Internship (10 Weeks, $250/Week)

Purpose: To enhance and support the youth and children's ministries of Smithfield Baptist Church during the summer months.  The Youth & Children's Summer Intern shall work under the direction of, and be responsible to, the minister of Youth & Children.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate with the minister of youth and children as well as the youth and children's committees to provide a well balanced summer program for youth and children to include:

a. Weekly Small Group Bible Study for Youth (Grades 7-12)
b. Weekly Children's Program (Ages 4-Grade 6)
c. Special Youth Events (Kingsfest, Glory in the Gardens, Tides Games, Hands & Feet Mission Projects, etc.)
d. Chaperone at Youth Summer Camp (Centrifuge), and Youth/Children Mission Trip (Missions Connection)
e. Participate in Sunday Morning Worship Services (8:30 & 11:00 a.m.), Youth Sunday School, and Kid's Worship Service
f. Assist Day Camp/VBS director and lead Youth Section and/or lead another area of Day Camp/VBS (Bible Study, Crafts, Games, Music, etc.)
g. Plan & implement a Youth Led Worship Service on "Youth Sunday" for both the 8:30 & 11:00 a.m. services
