With a single slitting machine sitting alone in the middle of 2,000 square feet of space, the SHEP Company began an Odyssey of growth and innovation that would bring the company to the forefront of the specialty packaging industry.
It was January of 1990 and we specialized in processing narrow width liners. We re-wound, slit, and sold our product to the burgeoning bag manufacturing industry. It was a humble beginning, but the energy and enthusiasm that infused us all at that time can still be found today. It is expressed in the many ways that we strive to make you feel like you are the most important person in the world.
In an effort to become an even more important source of supply to our bag manufacturing customers, we eventually decided to create our own proprietary line of Plastic Construction and Paper Liner Tapes. In order to meet the demand for spooled tapes and release liners, a 4-position bobbin winder replaced a single position winder in 1997 and a 16-position bobbin winder was added in January of 1999. We now slit and spool wind in a single process.
SHEP Company has worked hard to build a reputation for innovation and creativity. Our line of Tamper Evident Tapes and films are known the world over for having the best quality tamper evident features in the industry. We are proud that our products have been approved by companies such as Brinks International and other armored car services.
