Frequently Asked Questions

What type of services do you provide?

We provide a full array of landscape services, from landscape design & installation, to grading and seeding, to hardscaping & ponds.  Our website gives you a good feel for the scope of our services.  If you're not certain if we perform a certain service, just ask!

How do you conduct business?

First a phone conversation occurs so that we have a general understanding of the project of interest.  Then an appointment is scheduled and we meet with you at your home or business.  We discuss the project with you and take notes, measurements, and pictures.  Next, we contact you to discuss the proposal.  For larger, more complex projects involving landscape or hardscape design, we schedule an appointment at our home showroom for you to review the proposal in person.  If you are interested in proceeding we schedule the project.  For larger jobs, we require a retainer in order to schedule you and to enable us to do additional legwork on your behalf.  Larger hardscape jobs may also require a contract as delineated by the PA Attorney General's Office (see question below on licenses).  We generally require a deposit to be paid no later than the start of the job with the balance due within 15 days if completion.

Do you do landscape design?

Yes, in conjunction with landscape projects that we install.  We do not charge a separate fee for our design services when you do a project with us.  We do not typically do standalone landscape design.  For larger jobs, computer assisted design is available.

Do you do lawn treatments?

We generally do not apply lawn treatments outside fertilization of new lawns we install.  We recommend that you contact a lawn treatment specialist.  We can give you some suggestions if you need some guidance.

What do you mean by "hardscaping" ?

Hardscaping is a term used to describe outdoor features created with concrete interlocking pavers & wall block, synthetic stone products and steppers, and natural stone materials  The term is not typcially used to describe masonry projects using mortar.  Examples of typcial hardscape features include walkways, patios, driveways, retaining walls, sitting walls, fire bowls, and outdoor kitchens.

How can we be confident about our decision to select you as our contractor?

We want you to feel comfortable in using us for your project, so we encourage you to spend some time with us at our home show room and to visit projects similar to yours where you can see the type of work we do and meet some of our clients. We would be happy to arrange such visits for you or we could even accompany you.
