My work as a birth doula, childbirth educator and public health professional is deeply rooted in my belief that women deserve unconditional support during all aspects of their reproductive lives.
My goal as a birth doula is to help my clients create an informed and personalized birth experience. By articulating your expectations and helping you understand the benefits & drawbacks of all your options, I work with you to make sure that whatever your goals for labor are, you know how to make informed and empowered decisions.
As a childbirth educator, my unique knowledge of public health and hospital operations complements my knowledge of pregnancy and the birth process. My classes are tailored to your needs learning how to work with the health care system, coping with labor whatever your goals, while integrating my varied experiences into engaging and interactive learning experiences.
Pregnancy, birth and parenting are intensely transformative and deeply personal experiences. I am honored by every woman who has allowed me to support her goals for pregnancy and birth.
I have been working in perinatal health since 1998, as a certified birth doula since 2000. While I was living in the Washington, DC area, I created a hospital-based doula program, ran an information and referral birth support circle and worked as a birth doula and childbirth educator. After too long on the East coast, my family was thrilled to move back to Oregon in 2007. Im excited to be a part of the Renaissance Doula team. Having such a great team for support, inspiration and collaboration is a true gift!
