What to Look for When Purchasing a Keyboard
If you are thinking of buying a keyboard there are several things that you should consider:
  • If you are considering a keyboard versus a piano due to cost, understand that in some cases there may not be much of a price difference.
  • Keyboards should be at least 4 or 5 octaves (48 or 60 keys) in length and have full-sized keys.
  • Try to buy a touch-sensitive keyboard that will allow you to play with more dynamics.
  • If you are interested in connecting your keyboard to your computer, look for a model with a MIDI.
  • When you buy a keyboard it is also important to buy a good stand.
