What to Look for When Purchasing a Drum Set
When you buy your first drum set, there are several things you should consider:
  • It is usually safer to go with name brand sets for the purpose of reliability and resale potential.
  • Buying low-end cymbals can help save you money, as name brands are often expensive. Buying a cymbal pack (2 to 4) is another smart way to save.
  • Beginners don't need to invest in a complete drum set. They can get away with buying only a ride (hi-hat), bass drum and snare.
  • Expect to pay anywhere between $200 and $500 for a good set of drums.
Power Play Music carries a large selection of drum sets, and one of our sales associates would be more than happy to help you choose the right drums for your needs. Choose from name brands such as Yamaha, Pearl, Mapex, Sonor and Tama. We have a large selection of drum sets and individual drums in stock.
