Oar Tethers have a small ring under the Oarlock and a large one on the Oar shaft between the blade and the stop. These two rings are attached by a strap with a quick release buckle in the middle. Excess strap length is taken up by snaps. When your oar gets blown out of the oarlock the tether keeps it right by the boat for quick recovery. Saves having to chase it down the river. Often times you can recover a lost oar just as fast as you can get your spare oar into action. We consider these second only to a Rescue Throw Rope as necessary equipment on a boat. Sold in pairs.
