Harford Road Streetscape Update
I spoke with Joe Hooper, the project manager for the Harford Road Streetscape. Here’s an update on the status of the median construction and eventual milling and paving of the street:
- There will be trees in the median as originally planned.
- Field adjustments were made to the median design to accommodate commercial needs, especially at Beverly where the median was shortened to preserve the left turn lane into Safeway, and altered to allow commercial traffic to turn between Beverly and Grindon.
- For those who are concerned about the sidewalk installation at Overland, Mr. Hooper says to be patient as they are not complete.
- The project will extend beyond November 2007 because of changes to the portion of the project above Echodale, in the Hamilton Business District. The median will not be placed in the Hamilton Business District and the revisions to the plan were completed last week.
- These changes will alter the schedule for road bed milling and paving. Mr. Hooper will inform the community about the schedule for the road surface milling and paving once he has a revised schedule from the contractor.
