Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory (RCFL)
The RCFL Program brings together regional law enforcement officials from federal, state, and local government agencies. Known as "participating agencies" theses organizations pool their resources by agreeing to manage and staff the RCFL in their community.
The Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory Program is a national network of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) sponsored, full-service digital forensics loaboaratories and training centers. The FBI provides start-up and operational funding, training, and equipment, while state, local and other federal law enforcement agencies assign personnel to work as Examiners.
An RCFL is devoted entirely to the examination of digital evidencee in support of criminal investigations, such as, but not limited to -
- Terrorism - Crimes of Violence - Child Pornography -Theft or destruction of intellectual property - Internet Crime - Fraud - Murder | |

Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
The mission of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is to enforce the controlled substances laws and regulations of the United States and bring to the criminal and civil justice system of the United States, or any other competent jurisdiction, those organizations and principal members of organizations, involved in the growing, manufacture, or distribution of controlled substances appearing in or destined for illicit traffic in the United States; and to recommend and support non-enforcement programs aimed at reducing the availability of illicit controlled substances on the domestic and international markets | |

JOINT TERRORISM TASK FORCE (716) 856-7800
In 1979 the first Joint Terrorism Taskforce (JTTF) was formed in NYC by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and was staffed and augmented by several other Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies. It was followed by fifteen other JTTF's throughout the United States located mostly in larger metropolitan FBI Divisions. After the tragic events of 09/01/2001, it became evident that many more JTTF's were needed. The JTTF's would be located primarily at border crossings and major ports of entry in the United States, along with areas that have large populations of foreign residents and refugees. The Buffalo FBI was the first Division to be approved to add a JTTF and funding to implement the JTTF was approved in Washington D.C. The Buffalo FBI -JTTF is currently staffed by 25 Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies. FBI- Buffalo JTTF consists of members from the following agencies: FBI, U.S,- A.T.F., U.S.-Secret Service,U.S.- Border Patrol, U.S.- ICE.,U.S.- IRS.,U.S. - FDA., U.S.Customs Border Protection, U.S.- Treasury Department, US - Department of Defense, US Coast Guard, Us Postal Inspector General Service, US -DEA, US - Federal Protection Services, US - Department of State, US- - Defense Intelligence Agency, US -Air Marshall, New York State Police, New York State Generals Office, Niagara County Sheriffs Office, City of Niagara Falls Police Department, Erie County Sheriffs Office, City of Buffalo Police Department, Town of Amherst Police Department, City of Lackawanna Police Department | |
Western New York Joint Terrorist Task Force's (JTTF) mission is to prevent, detect, deter, and investigate attacks perpetrated by domestic and international terrorists in the Western District of New York. Founded in 2001, the JTTF investigates the activities of both international and domestic terrorist organizations. The JTTF also investigates all criminal activities, including the acquisition and garnishment of funds, weapons, explosives, false identifications, and other means, undertaken by terrorists to function. Additionally, the JTTF works with all local, state, and federal agencies, as well as the private sector, to establish appropriate responses to terrorist attacks.
