Cuba is a seasoned litigator with a particular emphasis on work outs on behalf of secured creditors and mortgagees. Cuba has represented major secured lenders in numerous bankruptcy proceedings, including ACME Cinemas and Casual Golf Centers. He also handles complex commercial and intellectual property matters, such as disputes between shareholders of closely held corporations, stock valuation proceedings and patent and trademark infringement cases. Cuba has extensive trial experience, having conducted numerous jury and non jury trials in federal and state courts and arbitrations in various forums. He has served as chairman of American Arbitration Association arbitration panels and has been appointed by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oregon as receiver and trustee in complex business disputes. Cuba lives in Beaverton, Oregon with his wife Cheryl, and his two children. An intercollegiate basketball player at the University of Oregon, Cuba continues to play competitive basketball whenever possible. |
