Prepared Childbirth “Prepared Childbirth is a twelve-hour class dedicated to providing expectant mothers and partners with the tools they need to make informed decisions and choices regarding pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early postpartum period. After this class, participants will have a good understanding of the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy and birth. This childbirth series discusses “normal” labor and what to expect throughout each stage and phase of labor. Class participants will practice relaxation and comfort measures and learn how to use techniques to help create a wonderful birth experience. They will have the information needed to understand complications, interventions, and cesarean birth. Prepared childbirth wraps up with an introduction to the immediate postpartum period and the basics of breastfeeding. Instructed by Tammy Brown, CBE and DONA trained doula since 2001, previous clinical medical assistant and PACE/LABOR studies childbirth educator for Brigham and Women's Hospital and Mass General Hospitals, and certified lactation counselor.

HypnoBirthing®
HypnoBirthing® is a unique method of relaxed, natural childbirth education. Working together using self-hypnosis, guided imagery, and special breathing techniques, you and your partner are able to anticipate and experience birth calmly and confidently rather than with fear. During the 5-week class series, you will get in touch with your instincts, create positive beliefs about birthing, and learn how to easily reach a deeply relaxed state that puts the mind and therefore the body in a better place to birth comfortably and joyfully. The techniques taught are wonderful skills for managing so many areas of life, automatically applied whenever needed to produce a calming effect on both mind and body.
