Team Opdyke Trucks - U13
November 12, 2011

The last half of the fall season has been a blast for Team Opdyke Trucks. Their teamwork and communication get better with each game, and defensive skills have particularly improved. Defensive midfielder Eli Haiko makes good clears and backed up Vince Opdyke in game 8. Another midfielder, Collin Fox, is excellent at making smart passes to the forwards. Vincent Golden pressures the offense as stopper. Erin Mayeros executes good team plays and is always alert for opportunities to take the ball. Maria Maltepes is one of the strongest and most reliable defenders – not much gets past her. Strong offensive plays abound as well. Brandon Fox covers a lot of ground and headed a beautiful pass, and Hayden Winkler made an assist for a goal. Brandon Sliker is a phenomenal all-around player and he actually “bent it like Beckham” when he curved a corner kick to score. The crowd went wild! Team “Big Red” was a powerhouse this season and should be proud of all they learned and accomplished.

Team 13 Vinny’s 2 (“Hot Fudge”)
October 25, 2011

Team “Hot Fudge” is off to a great start! Head Coach Mike Hartzell’s enthusiasm and spirit has rubbed off on all the kids. Assistant Coach Brian Rodgers is a great support to our Coach. Team Hot Fudge has played 3 games, thus far, with one rain out. The team, sponsored by Vinny’s 2, has had great contributions from each and every player. With that being said, let’s roll out the stars of THF. Gianna Bevivino is guilty of giving our team the superb name of “Hot Fudge”. Thank you Gianna! Gianna is the starting Forward for THF. Gianna’s all out hustling always appears to end with an impressive goal. The next starter needs no introduction, Will Foster stars as the teams’ striker and supplies the team with many goals and continues to shine in both practice and the games. He is an all around team player, always eager to share the ball. The next member of THF may need an introduction because each week he’s disguised as a new superhero. He would be THF starting midfielder Zachary Soto. Zach has a knack for carrying and passing the ball with exceptional skill and the ability to score the ball when necessary. Next up for THF is their rookie player and starting Winger Jaclyn Lieberman. Jaclyn has shown a real passion for the game, even while yawning on the field. Jaclyn impresses with a strong leg and a continued great effort in both practice and the games. Starting at Winger, Emma Hartzell’s sportsmanship, speed and dribbling ability finds her scoring for Hot Fudge often. Not to mention her pretty matching ribbons – always dressed for success! Our starting left Midfielder Griffan Arbogast’s matching cleats not only look cool but connect with the ball all too often helping team Hot Fudge put another cherry on top! Griffan has a great instinct for carrying the ball downfield to help set up goals for THF. Last but not least, our teams’ starting Winger, Jack Rodgers, demonstrates great artistry in passing and scoring goals. Furthermore, Jack’s untiring effort is invaluable to our team.

We look forward to continued improvement and development of Team Hot Fudge in the second half of the season. Thanks to our great coaches!

Team 14 Hartzel’s Concrete (“Blue Thunder”)
October 25, 2011

The season thus far for Blue Lightning has been an exciting, albeit wet one. There have been some games where the players have gotten soaking wet and muddy, but they loved every minute. Thanks to Coach Brett White we all had a new dry field to play on and not miss any additional games or practices. Thanks coach! The season has been filled with lots of goals and some great defense. With each game, the players are learning more and more about positioning and passing as well. Again, thanks to coaches White, Franck, and Stinson. In our last few games the offense has had their way with their opponents, with several players, such as Alexandria Franck, Emily White, and Aidan Haynos scoring several goals, with additional contributions from all other players. There has been great defense and ball hawking with great passes from Jack Alegado, Kevin Hugendubler , and Corinne Stinson. As well as some big kicks from the powerful right leg of Kevin! Throughout the season, all of the players have shown awesome sportsmanship camaraderie. Let’s all look for a great rest of the season!

Team 15 Vertis
October 25, 2011

As the fall U6 soccer season begins, Team Purple, sponsored by Vertis, and coached by Paula Erisman has shown great sportsmanship and enthusiasm. Liam Drollette, Luke Smealand and Aubrey Rissi have been the top scorers in these first few games. Sean Card, Savanna Troy, Will Thompson and Madison Erisman have been fabulous at passing the ball to their teammates, playing great defense, and scoring goals. In a particularly excellent display of good sportsmanship, when faced with the  choice of scoring a goal himself or passing the ball to a teammate, Liam Drollette passed the ball to Luke Smealand, who scored a goal for the team. With encouragement from Coach Paula and Assistant Coach Brett Drollette, the purple team has been practicing hard, and look forward to a successful second half of the season.

Team 16 New Britain Civic Association (“Blue Jets”)
October 25, 2011

Team Blue Jets launched its 2011 flight with a slippery but a strong start; the team’s captain (coach) Mr. Ed Kelleher and co-pilot (Mr. DiPalma) have done a terrific job with its crew members. The defense in the past two games have been played by Gabriel Bixby and Aarav Satashia, who love to protects their goal cage. While Stefania DiPalma, Mary Kelleher and Matthew Schaefer are swift their foot in getting their ball in the cage!! With a help of Madison Epstein during he first game, they got some great goals. Although, Madelynn Dovan is playing soccer for the first year, she has become a true team player with some strong passes.

Team 17 Erie Insurance
October 25, 2011

Team 17, the White Team has been very enthusiastic this first half of the Fall 2011 Season. Alivia, Anna, AJ, Camilla, Evan and Lucas all do their personal best at each practice and game with the help of their Coaches Eduardo and Tanya Rovira. Some great turnarounds have been executed by Camilla, Alivia and Evan. All of the players are practicing their passing which has given the team some nice goals by Alivia, Evan, Lucas and AJ. Hopefully Mother Nature takes it easy on us for the second half of our season so Camilla, Anna, Lucas, AJ, Evan, and Alivia can show all their skills that are constantly improving.

Team 18 Jewelry Store Stone Harbor, NJ
October 25, 2011

The Fall 2011 Lenape Valley Soccer season is off to a fabulous start despite the never-ending  rain, game cancellations, and field switching.  All of these obstacles have not dampened the spirits of the U6 Silver team led by the always energetic Coach Jim Keebler.  The boys of Team Silver are a formidable offensive and defensive presence on the field.  Josh has demonstrated excellent communication skills by calling out to teammates when he is open for a pass.  Grady seems to magically emerge from every huddle with the ball.  Luke has shown the team how being aggressive can pay off with a goal.  Enzo’s energy and super fast running have contributed to Team Silver’s high scores.

The girls of Team Silver are not to be out-shone by the boys.  Rachael’s persistence on the field resulted in a goal assist.  Erin proved that an open mid-field is perfect for a break away and a score.  Moran tirelessly follows the ball up and down the field never letting her team down. Team Silver has demonstrated sportsmanship, cooperation and friendship both on and off the field.  Team Silver is working hard to make the second half of the season even better than the first.

Team 19 Bucks-Mont Party Centre (“Orange Tigers)
October 25, 2011

The first half of the Orange Tigers season has gotten off to a roaring start.  In just a few short weeks the team has become a fierce and competitive group of 6 year olds, ready to take on any and all teams. Tristen Stevens led the way for the Tigers in the season opener.  In a game where most of the Tigers were still getting their paws wet to start the season, he took control, notching a whopping 7 goals to spark the Tiger's initial effort.

After the opener, the rest of the Tigers followed suit showing great team work and a scoring prowess that hasn't been seen in some time.  The second game of the season featured the debut of the "AFL" (All Female Line of Amelia “Mimi” Duffy, Emma Ojert, and Wynne DiLissio).  The 3 girls dominated on both sides of the ball with "Meems" and Emma notching solid goals and Wynne playing some out of this world defense. Each Orange Tiger effort continued to amaze both parents and fans as the team keeps getting stronger and more ferocious.  In the latest game, Action Jackson Doyle flashed some of his breakaway skills while Evan Carroll showed that he, too, can dominate any opponents that come his way.

While the team has shown a tremendous knack for finding the back of the net, they have also put on a clinic in passing, teamwork, and passion for the game (almost unheard of at such a young age). Enjoy the rest of the season Orange Tiger fans.  It's sure to be a splendid one.

Team 20 Law Offices of Sharif N. Abaza
October 25, 2011

Team Venom has mastered the art of teamwork, led by the breakaway speed of Sierra Musitano, the goal-scoring specialty of Elle DeStephanis, and the solid defensive play of Brie Abazza.

The relentless hustle and ball skills of Dominic Varacallo, the passing expertise of Brody Cocca, and the determined defense of William Nothum’s has made Team Venom a formidable opponent for the rest of the U6 squads. As Team Venom continues to learn the game with enthusiasm and sportsmanship, they look forward to the last half of the season with anticipation and willingness.

Team 21 Craft Source, Inc. (“The Sharks”)
October 25, 2011

The Craft Sources, Inc. Sharks are off to a great soccer season. Justin Dwyer has led the team in sportsmanship with his cheering for the team at games. The Sharks have scored numerous goals in the first three games including a goal by Brooke Zubyk against a very skilled opposing team . Ian LaBadie has demonstrated strong defensive skills. Our team has been working on passing skills led by Lily Darreff . George Dous has been skilled in stopping goals by the opposing teams. Audrey Wittman has been a very enthusiastic player on the field. We would like to welcome our newest player, Joe Bush, who will make a wonderful addition to the team.

Team 23 Byers Choice (“Red Dragons”)
October 25, 2011

While this fall has proven to be redundant with rain, the U6 Red Dragons refused to relinquish their love of soccer. Fanning fire over the field, the Dragons battled bravely in their first three bouts. With determined drilling from Head Coach Joe Cotellese and Assistants Steve Snyder and Matt Winco, this loyal legion of lads and lasses reigned regally.

Red-hot Ryan Bowman and his dynamic dedication to defending the Dragons helped lead the team to tyranny. Powerful passes and careful clearing conquered many a challenger’s chance at victory. A-blazing Abigail Cotellese always answered the call to action. She assiduously attacked the offense, and blazingly bounded down the field with her bounty. Her terrific training in teamwork truly shined through. Raging AJ Rihl ruled the field. His super speed surprised many a woeful warrior as he blitzed by in his barrage of breakaways. He also showed sincere sportsmanship as he persistently passed to his fellow Dragons. White-hot William Rodebaugh ignited an inferno as he helped lead the charge. His raids on the retreating opposition conquered considerable contenders as he out-smarted them with his flawless footwork. Burning Brecken Schmidt’s brilliant ball handling brought oppressive opponents to their knees. His mighty moxie made many challengers cringe as he successfully shielded Red’s stronghold with his daunting defense. Glowing Gabrielle Snyder started out on the shy side, but soon stepped up her game and showed us she could subdue any sneaky scorer. Single-footedly, she forced a formidable foe to falter and helped fortify the fortress. Scorching Samantha Winco sparked the action, always finding her way into the fray. She was also decisively determined to defend the den and triumphantly trampled her rivals with her terrific talent. With persistent practice, true teamwork and fiery ferociousness, the second half of the season should send the Dragons soaring above the competition.

Team 24 High Point Dental Medicine
October 25, 2011

Team 24, representing High Point Dental Medicine is off to a running start. We are learning great things in practice with our Smart Soccer coaches from ball handling to passing and dribbling. Using some of those skills from practice are Kate Holcombe, Mikayla Henriksson and Emma D’Arcy. In fact, in one of our games, Tyler Stevens had a fabulous pass!! Emma has great control of the ball as she travels down field. Kayla has been showing off great dribbling skills and ending them with a goal. We have seen great speed from Nathaniel Wanzer, Emily Hill and Russell Weber to make the plays. Nathaniel and Emily get down the field quickly and score those goals. Russell uses the defensive strategy to block the opposing team and defend that net. Of course, we have very proud parents standing on the side lines cheering on the entire team during these exciting matches. All of Team 24, from Kate and Kayla, to Emily, Tyler, Than, Emma and Russell are showing excellent teamwork and sportsmanship!!

TEAM: KICK-N-WEAR
October 25, 2011

The 2011 Fall U-13 intramural team sponsored by Kick –n-Wear has started off their season with a fast start. Due to the very "wet" weather, they have only had 3 fun-filled and exciting games. The team has a very strong offensive line and midfield consisting of Kevin Snavely, Daniel Klapper, Michael Redfield, Gwen Paul and Kate Hill. Snavely and Klapper rule the field with their game winning goals and Ben Foster had an awesome 18 yard goal in the last half of our 3rd game. Gwen Paul and Kate Hill continue to push for victory with their shots-on-goal and passing talents. On defense, Aiden Romano, Ashley Cousart and Tia Presti show strong talent and defensive moves. TEAM: SMURFS? BLUE JAYS? BUMBLE BEES?
October 25, 2011

Is the dynamite U5 soccer team the Smurfs? Or are they the Blue Jays? Maybe they are the Blue Bumble Bees? This incredibly talented group of 7 superstar soccer plays never quite decided on a team name, but they certainly decided how to work well together to have fun and score goals! Guided and encouraged by Head Coach Murphy and Assistant Coach Lugara, these royal blue players learned how to hustle, keep their eye on the ball, and kick the ball. The rooster included Kick the Ball Cole, Energetic Eric, Galloping Gavin, Jazzy with the Ball Julia, Light on her Feet Lauren, Move the Ball Maggie, and Traveling Trevor. Will these sensational seven decide on a name by the end of the season? Maybe, but they will absolutely have a terrific time playing the great game of soccer!
