Meet some of our Instructors
Carol Vind Some day I will learn how to create with stained glass. This was my aim for many years. Then I retired and had the opportunity to take a beginning stained glass class in Texas in 1994. I took more classes in Arizona and started teaching in 2002. During the next six years I have taught approximately twenty classes. It is always a joy when a beginner happily displays their first sun catcher. Come join the beginning class and be challenged!
Jo Guttormson Jo has been a summer resident of the Longville area since 1976, spending her winters in Blaine teaching middle school Life Science. She took her first basket classes the summer of 1994 and loved the craft from the beginning. She has taught numerous groups and guilds throughout the state and treasures not only the baskets, but the many wonderful friends she has made while pursuing her craft. Now enjoying retirement, she can combine her 2 favorite activities - teaching and basket weaving. She loves to introduce others to the craft of basket weaving.
Steve Reiter Graduated from College of Visual Arts St. Paul MN 1975 with a batchlors degree in art. I majored in graphic design and minored in painting. I always had an interest in portraits and I still have some portrait drawings I did when I was 9 years old. One of my instructors was Jerry Ryan a protrait artist famous for his paintings of Betty Crocker and also several protraits of Minnesota state governors. For over 30 years I have painted several commissioned portraits of people as well as pets. I worked at Minnesota Renaissance Festival for 17 years drawing caricatures. I also worked at the turtle races in Longville drawing caricatures and you may see me there again this year.
