Kettells Greenhouse history goes back almost 90 years ago when Edward Kettell, an Italian immigrant, built his first greenhouse. He grew plants for his own truck farm and supplied other farmers with vegetable plants. Now, third and fourth generations are commercial growers. Among the plants grown are flowering annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, hanging baskets and potted plants. Total production amounts to almost three acres in the spring. Sales are open to the general public. Also, plants are sold to garden centers, there is even a fund-raising plan for schools and other organizations.
In addition, the business specializes in growing plug trays of seedlings for other greenhouses. Hardy garden mums are available in the Autumn.
Kettells is located along the Susquehanna river on route 92 in Falls, Pa. Please see our contact page for detailed driving directions. |
