 Lead Post Advisor Police Officer Nelson Alamo Before entering the Police Academy where he graduated as Valedictorian, 12-year veteran Police Officer Nelson Alamo served as a Military Policeman for the United States Air Force as well as a federal officer with the United States Customs Service. Police Officer Alamo has received numerous awards for academic achievement during his career, including an Academic Excellence Award from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia in 1993. Born and raised in Jersey City, Nelson views the Explorer Program as an opportunity to give back to his community and to serve the youth of the program as a positive role model and mentor. Officer Alamo has been awarded five commendations and three Excellent Police Service awards by the Jersey City Police Department, and was decorated nine times during his military service including the Air Force Achievement Medal. The father of two boys, Officer Alamo's hobbies include video editing and target shooting. | ||||
