Bro. James A. Maxwell is the Minister of the Holgate Street Church of Christ in Seattle, Washington. The congregation is presently experiencing steady growth and are in the design development and permitting stages of expansion. They plan to build a brand new edifice & totally renovate the existing edifice to create a 17, 000 square foot complex to serve the needs of the Church body and the Seattle community.

Thus far in Bro. Maxwell's fourteen years of fulltime service in the ministry, he has established and lead several ministries in various congregations. Some of these include Personal Evangelism, College Classes and Young Men's Ministry, Christian Training for teens, Young Married Couples Ministry, Recovery Ministries & Domestic and International Gospel Campaign (To Arkansas & Belize City, Central America) where many have been won to Christ. Recently Bro. Maxwell visited Ethiopia where he taught classes and preached the gospel, 33 souls were added to Christ during this visit.

Bro. Apollos Maxwell has served on an Economic Development Corporation and a Bible College. He founded the S.W.C.C. & Me Foundation which raised several thousands dollars for special projects. The foundation spurred the completion of the Brand New Chapel Auditorium at Southwestern Christian College dedication in 2004.

Bro. Maxwell received one of the College's highest honors in 2003, the "Valor Award", in the category of  "Church Leadership". Brother Maxwell and his wife were also honored in 2003 "For Outstanding Christian Service" by the Los Angeles Bible College. Brother Maxwell was named "Outstanding Young Man of America" in 1996.

Brother Maxwell has served congregations in Ohio, Texas & California. He has traveled the country conducting Educational Workshops, Teacher Workshops, Marriage Enrichment Seminars, Gospel Meetings & Youth Meetings. He has spoken on nurmerous National Lectureships & Youth Conferences across this vast brotherhood.

Brother Maxwell fill his schedule conducting a wide array of counseling services at the congregation where he ministers in addition to balancing a Custom Tailoring Business.

Apollos is a graduate of Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, TX and Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX. He pursuing additional certification in Christian Counseling and is a member of the National Association of Christian Counselors.

Brother Maxwell is married to the former LaConya Pierre of Houston, TX. They have two beautiful children, James Brooks and Cathyrn Grace.
