Food Allergy Test Page of Optimal Health Medical LLC's Web SiteFood Allergy TestThis food allergy test measures antibodies that cause delayed allergic reactions which result in a wide variety of symptoms. These can be as diverse as headaches, malaise and fatigue, digestive disorders, skin problems, aching joints, emotional / behavioral effects, and other reactions. In children, and adults undetected food reactions can be a significant factor in overall health. The difficulty is to clearly define which foods may be causing adverse reactions. Delayed food reactions are the most difficult to detect because there is no obvious pairing of food consumption with an adverse reaction and this reaction can occur several hours or days later. To interpret the results each food is given a numerical score and ranked by relative concentration. High concentrations of IgG4 to a particular food are ranked as "severe" and low levels receive a "mild" ranking. Appropriate individualized recommendations can then be made.
