“Before beginning any piece, I take a moment to realize exactly what it is about the subject that initially caught my eye or stirred an emotion. Only then do I decide how to fill the canvas and bring it to life in my unique way. I invite you to experience the positive emotions these images can hold.”

This is a side view of the M82 Galaxy inspired by the  image from the Hubble Space Telescope.  The bright blue disk is embedded in a shredded envelope of glowing reddish clouds. It is painted with metallic paints and has stones for dimension. The only portion painted with a brush is the star, otherwise I used all sorts of interesting tools.  The thick clear coatings highlights to metals and the rich blues and reds. This galaxy was fun to paint and a joy to behold!  It is painted on a wood panal and has 1 1/2 inch stained birch sides so you don't need a frame.

If you click on one of these images and it will take you to the gallery with my other 'space' images .
