The Incorporated Village of Valley Stream is inside the southwest part of Nassau County in the Town of Hempstead.
The village is served by the Long Island Rail Road at the Valley Stream station, located at Sunrise Highway and Franklin Avenue. An express train gets to Penn Station in 32 minutes. The station is slated for renovations in 2007.
