While we can not bring your pet back, our objective is simply to make you feel a little bit better at a time of loss and sorrow. Formal burial is arranged for much in the same way that one would arrange for the burial of a human member of the family. Burial arrangements can be made by telephoning our business office at (914) 949-2583 or by visiting the Cemetery. Your beloved pet will be treated with the utmost dignity and care.
Since personal preferences and financial circumstances vary, Hartsdale offers a variety of options. Cost will vary, depending on your particular selections: burial plot location and size, casket type and size, monument type, concrete vault, etc.
Single and multiple in-ground burial lots are available. Cremation lots are also available for those who choose to have their pets cremated remains buried.
We will escort you through our beautiful and historic grounds to help you select a burial lot location. We will also show you a variety of affordable are also available if needed. Please inquire for further details. The casket is then placed on a carrier and you can follow our staff in a ceremonial procession to the gravesite.
After the casket is lowered into the grave, you are offered a symbolic first shovel of dirt. The burial is then completed by our staff in your presence. Flowers are planted and a temporary grave marker is placed at the gravesite. Transportation
Transporting your pet to Hartsdale yourself may be difficult emotionally and/or physically. As an alternative, Hartsdale can provide transportation of your beloved pet from your home or your veterinarian’s office in a professional, low profile and timely manner. Our staff are compassionate and treat your pet with the dignity and gentle care that it deserves.
Pre-Need Plots
Advanced planning makes the final arrangements less of an emotional and financial burden. Many people feel that it is easier to make arrangements before the time of need so that decisions are not made during a time of sorrow. Therefore, we encourage pet owners to visit the Cemetery in advance and plan every detail during a period of calm, rather than crisis so they can be certain that their pet will receive the kind of tribute that they wish. In addition, pre-planning also allows you to prepay cemetery costs at today's prices.

Often, a pet owner can incur a substantial amount of medical expenses towards the end of their pet’s life. Hartsdale has always been sensitive to this problem.
