Pastor Randy Briscoe
Senior Pastor & CEA President

Pastor Randy Briscoe came to Garr in the spring of 1988 as our Youth Pastor.  After 25+ years of serving the Lord in Youth Ministry (12 of those years at Garr), in the spring of 2000, Pastor Randy accepted a new call to service at Garr as our Administrative Pastor and School Administrator.  With a vision to impact our world by shaping young lives with the Gospel, God used his leadership and his heart for families to lead our school in effective ministry to our community. Pastor Randy Briscoe is now the Senior Pastor of Garr Memorial Church. Pastor Randy’s wife, Brenda, in addition to faithfully serving along side him has also taught in our Preschool for over 15 years.  They have 3 children and 7 grandchildren!

Pastor Ron Berg
Worship Pastor & Associate Pastor

Pastor Ron has been on staff at Garr since the fall of 2001.  Before accepting the pastor of music and worship position, he was at similar positions in: Manhattan, Kansas; San Diego, California; and Salem, Oregon. After graduating from Central Wesleyan College (now Southern Wesleyan University) located in Central, South Carolina, Pastor Ron toured and sang nationally known group "ReGeneration" for three years. This group of five girls and five guys sang on average around 500 concerts a year, and traveled 100,000 miles a year. He and his wife, Beth have been married for twelve years, and have two children - Kristen and Philip. Pastor Ron heads up the music department here at Garr. There is a college through adult-age choir that works on and performs seasonal musicals, as well as singing from time to time during Sunday morning worship.

Pastor Steve G. Byrd
 Pastor Emeritus


Pastor Steve Byrd began his ministry thirty-five years ago as Youth Pastor here at Garr Memorial Church. Several years later God gave him the opportunity to work in Christian Television. Through this powerful ministry tool he was able to see the gospel of Christ spread throughout our nation and beyond. With a heart for serving the local church, God opened the door for Pastor Byrd to return to Pastoral ministry where he enjoyed over twenty years of ministry in the Assemblies of God as a pastor, educator, counselor, and producer of Christian television for local churches. In the fall of 1989 Pastor Byrd returned to Garr as our Senior Pastor. Uniquely, Pastor Byrd grew up here at Garr and is now privileged to serve many who were his Sunday School teachers and friends as he grew up in the church. Pastor Steve's desire is that we responsibly enjoy the same calling and anointing which birthed our church in 1930. To do this we are endeavoring to be a church that Seeks Christ, Serves Christ, and Shares Christ with our whole heart. Due to health issues Pastor Byrd has resigned as senior pastor of Garr Memorial Church.


Pastor is a graduate of Central Wesleyan College (now Southern Wesleyan University). He has been married to his wife, Cathey, for thirty-two years. They have four sons; Joshua, Andrew, Wesley, and Stiles. They also enjoy taking care of their three grandchildren; Grace, Garrett, and Abigail.
