	WHY THE NAME "GARR"? Garr Church was formed out of the fires of revival in 1930, when evangelist, Alfred G. Garr came to Charlotte. Hundreds upon hundreds were saved, healed and filled with the power of God as this God-chaser who had been filled with the Holy Spirit at Azusa Street shared the message with Charlotte. God had used Dr. Garr in ministry all over the world, but he spent his final years pastoring a congregation of Christ-followers that came to be called Garr Memorial Church. And Garr Church is still CONNECTING others with Christ TODAY! We are a FAMILY of Christ Followers that enjoy doing life together by Connecting in Worship, Community, and Service.
