What a life! Everything is great until something happens to knock you out of commission. 

 I am still recovering from major back surgery I had in February of this year. It was done because of the severe pain I had and could not walk without some kind of aid. It was causing discomfort in everything I was doing. I had to have people come in and cover for me in my duties at the Church. My wife, who is the greatest wife there is, filled in with arranging and helping me get things accomplished. I felt like I was letting everyone down.

I learned that God's work does not rely on me. He will and does accomplish everything He said He would do, even without my interference. There is much to learn when you are put in a place of relying on others, and it is a good thing to go through.

One thing being knocked down will do is cause you to do a lot of thinking. The thinking I did was how good is my relationship with God. I am a born again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, and I have full assurance in my faith in Him. However when we get knocked down, doubt has a tendency to rear its ugly head. This is where knowing the promises of God come to full realization.

God promised He would never leave us nor forsake us. (Hebrews 13:5) with this promise how can we stay down?

When and if you are ever in the place of doubt, turn to the Bible and let God show you His loving kindness which lasts forever!
