Question:
Somewhere between vitamin D and melanoma I know tanning is ultimately good to some degree, but isn't tanning in booth just inviting skin cancer? I would like to look less pale and white, but the cancer thing scares me off. Also, what will it do for my blond gone brown going grey hair (full head of it, in great shape).

Answer:
Actually tanning beds are ultimately safer than outdoor tanning, because you are in a controlled environment and your exposure to UVB, the burning ray, ranges from 5.5 to 9.5 max. Outdoor exposure is always a variable unknown. By taking the time to develop and good tan, mother nature's way of protecting us from "burning" will allow you to enjoy the outdoors more without the fear of skin cancer, unless you are genetically predisposed. As for your hair, if you do not want the sun or suntanning units to change the color of your hair you should always cover it with a towel, or a solar cap.
