                   FARMINGDALE NEWSLETTER

JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2009
Direct from the Director
≈Michelle Friedman≈
Welcome to 2009! We did many fun things in 2008 and look forward to many more fun things in 2009.

In the event that Old Man Winter appears and interrupts the opening or closing of Prime Time, you need to be aware of the following.  Management will post our intensions on the website, voicemail, and with the local radio and TV stations.  It is your responsibility to check one or all of these venues to get up to date info.  It will be posted identically on all of the above venues if we are closed, opening late or closing early.

It is against the law for us to open the building if we are not completely shoveled out in the front, side and back of the building.  It is also against the law for us to open if we are not completely staffed. Management will be phone conferencing each other as early as 4:45 am and we will make the decision jointly.  We do not follow any public school closings.

Last June we had our largest Pre-K graduating class yet.  We held the graduation at Kenwal Day Camp in Melville.  All of the Pre-K classes worked hard in preparing for this special event.  All of the parents and families had a wonderful time.  Even though it is only January we are already planning for the Pre-K graduation and our full summer enrichment program.

Thank you to all of the Prime Time families and staff that generously donated to the food and coat drives.  We collected enough food to be distributed to four needy Prime Time families and then made a large donation to a local church with the rest.

The coat drive was successful too.  My daughter Courtney wrote something to all of you who donated.  You will find it in this newsletter.

I know you will join me in congratulating Mr. Todd Andros on his engagement.  Todd popped the question to his long time girlfriend Gina Scarpitta at a Buffalo Bills game over Thanksgiving Weekend.  All of the staff at Prime Time is very happy for both of them.  No wedding date is set yet.

Please make sure that you change the clothes in your child’s bin to winter clothes.  WE WILL GO OUTSIDE in the snow.  Please make sure that your child has sufficient extra clothes in their classroom so that they may partake in the outside winter activities.
Happy New Year and make sure you stick to your New Years Resolution.
Thank you to all of the families who generously gave holiday gifts and food!

Tax season is here!  Our tax ID #11-3503662

Coat Drive Thank You

Thank you so very much for your help with the winter coat drive at East Woods School.  I personally collected 48 coats. These coats were given to a homeless shelter.  I constantly think about the 48 people who now have warm winter coats and how much they must appreciate it.  I appreciate “your” help and thank you again.
