(3"H x 3"W x 1.5"D) The Humpback Whale Doorbell Ringer was designed by Michael Healy, an accomplished Rhode Island artisan. Michael grew up on Cape Cod and has happy memories of his youth spent whale watching on Cape Cod Bay. What a thrill it was to see these enormous mammals surface then disappear into the ocean depths. The Humpback Whale Doorbell Ringer is cast in solid brass. It was hand-crafted in Rhode Island using the age old art of foundry casting. During the process molten brass is heated to over 2000ºF then carefully poured into a hand made sand mold. This mold is used only once, giving each Doorbell Ringer its individual character. The Humpback Whale Doorbell Ringer was hand polished and coated with a clear lacquer to protect its original polished finish. It is signed in the mold by the artist, Michael Healy,confirming its authenticity and craftmanship. MHR02
