Financial Assistance

YMCA programs and activities are designed to benefit people of all backgrounds.  Fees are based on the cost of providing each program.  While participants are expected to pay their fair share, the YMCA will make every effort to assist any individual who wishes to participate but cannot afford the fee.   Proof of income is required.  If any or our requirements prove to be an obstacle, please speak with a member of our YMCA staff about your specific situation.  We are here to help.

No individual or family will be denied full membership or program access because of inability to pay.  Partial assistance funds are available to any deserving person or family.  To receive assistance, you must first apply.  You can request a form at the YMCA business office in Palm Desert.  Complete the form and attach your latest 1040 tax form and your last 3 payroll stubs or other acceptable forms of income verification.  While the information is being processed, you will asked to pay the full program fee until your eligibility and available funding is determined.  This process may take up to 2 weeks.

Your information will be held in complete confidence and will be seen only by the YMCA Executive Director and the financial assistance committee.  The same program services are provided to those receiving financial assistance as to those paying full fees.

The YMCA request your financial information to be sure that assistance is directed to those who need it most.  With income information and family size, we can award aid in a fair and consistent manner.  Finally, we want to ensure that our program is being used in the most comprehensive manner.
