| The History of Cross Road Assembly... CROSS ROAD ASSEMBLY HISTORY It was October of 2008, when Cross Road Assembly was planted as a Home Missions church in the Assembly of God Fellowship. The church humbly began with about 25 people in attendance in the Sunday morning worship service. Rev. Ron Liples was installed as the Pastor of this small, but faithful flock, on October 4th, 2008. Almost weekly as the word spread in the Moscow/Elmhurst area of CRA, visitors came…and stayed. As people stayed, and expressed an interest in other church services and activities, Pastor put other services into the weekly schedule, B y the end of 2008 the attendance doubled. Many people made commitments, or rededicated their lives to Christ, and many people were healed as the Lord moved among the congregation . The mission statement and motto of the church began to be expressed through the leading of the Holy Spirit; ‘Reaching out to bring them in’ is the cry of our hearts as we plan, prepare, and present programs to attain this goal.…. Soon other areas of ministry emerged including; Women at the Cross Road, Men at the Cross Road, Unashamed Youth, Camp Peace and Harmony Children’s program, Prayer Intercessors, Ushers and Greeters, and support for Missionaries began. Pastor Liples has been given the unction of the Holy Spirit to grow the church for Jesus. As a result, he always tries to treat the small congregation with large church initiatives. Thus, as the church continues to grow, the elements needed to function smoothly as a larger church, were already in place. Today the church holds two services with a fellowship time between, allowing for the people from each service to have a greeting time together. CRA supports over 14() missionaries, both foreign and domestic, with $100.00 a month. The services are contemporary and evangelical in nature, but, the hallmark of CRA is the ‘family’ attitude and atmosphere! We strive to make each person feel loved, valued, and a necessary part of our Cross Road family! After all, isn’t that what Jesus asked us to do?
