To reduce heavy truck traffic on the current SR 441 alignment through the Borough of Columbia.





* High truck volumes (600 trucks per day)

* High truck accident rate

* Improve pedestrian safety

* Slower acceleration

* Operational intersection failures

* Predicted increase in congestion


* High rate of "through" traffic (>70%)

* Vibrant retail activity and heavy truck traffic do not mix

- Conflicts with pedestrian traffic

- Conflicts with on-street parking


* Reduce noise levels

* Improve air quality

* Preserve infrastructure

* Enhance access to recreation & park areas
