Parks Department

Harry Schmidt Park located on the South side of town offers over 25 acres to enjoy.  For the children, we offer a playground with a pond nearby. City facility rentals at Harry Schmidt Park include the Al Goman Community Center and the Ed Peterson Shelter.  Details about these facilities can be found here: Facility Rental.  Harry Schmidt Park also has softball and baseball fields, tennis courts and BBQ’s to make any weekend a perfect time to have a picnic. 

Henry Miller Park, centrally located at 3rd Avenue and 6th Street, provides several opportunities to enjoy the outdoors in Gustine.  At this park, you can rent the Henry Miller Shelter to enjoy covered tables and chairs, a kitchenette and large BBQ pit. Further information on the shelter at Henry Miller Park can be found here: Facility Rental.  There is playground equipment for the children and the County Library is open on a limited basis, Monday through Saturday.  The park also has a community pool which opens up during the summer for family fun, swimming lessons for children and water aerobics.  For information on renting the pools for private parties, contact City Hall. 

The City’s two smaller parks, Cef Jamero Park located on Sherwood Drive between Edith Drive and Verde Drive, and Pioneer Park located at East Avenue and Wallis Avenue, also offer playground equipment, BBQ’s and picnic areas for residents to enjoy.  There are no City facilities to rent at Sherwood Park or Pioneer Park.
