Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant

 

The mortgage loan-processing assistant will work with the loan officer in the collection, organization, verification, and TIMELY delivery of all residential loan application support documentation to the loan processor and/or lender.  He/She will coordinate and order third party reports (i.e. credit reports, appraisals, HOA docs, title, escrow instructions, etc.), communicate specifics to loan officers and prepare misc. reports.  This person will also assist the loan officer with marketing campaigns and in the maintenance of investor guidelines.


Responsibilities will include: 

• Obtains client signatures on documents.
• Reviews all documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Follows up on transactions, including external recordings and filings, client advices and verifications. 
• Meets with parties involved in transactions and reviews documents to ensure that all required documents are available and that they are accurate and complete for the closing.
• Explains documents to clients and executes all documents.  Resolves problems that arise before closing, e.g., problems with titles, document deficiencies, missing documents, problems with insurance, etc.
• Follow up as necessary to obtain documents that may be required.
• Understands and applies appropriate regulations to ensure laws are followed, particularly with real estate loans.

Maintain relationship with fsbo, attorneys, cpa's, realestate professionals and financial planners referral clients.. 


Must have a strong knowledge of lending practices and required documentation.  Must be able to identify all documents for all types of loans including commercial and real estate (mortgage), and be able to review the docs and know what is required for each type of loan.  This person will not prepare loan docs (the loan operations area will do that) but will order the docs, work with title companies to set up closings and coordinate the closings.  They need to be able to review everything before funding -- signatures, required info, etc., is all in place, and also how to fund loans, i.e., issue a cashier's check, wire, etc.  Must be detailed oriented, with good math skills to ensure accuracy of documents and calculate interest payments.  Must be computer literate – must have previous experience with Lotus Notes, Word, and Excel.  We are looking for someone who is very professional.  Must have excellent communications skills and be able to communicate with borrowers.
