Like presidents that served before me, my hope for the 100 Black Men of Bradley County is that we continue efforts to improve the quality of the lives of young people in our community, while striving to enhance their educational opportunities. We aim to be models and mentors and to help steer them in the right direction. There is a dire need for African American men to be affirmed and to be seen in their communities. Men who are successful, productive and responsible need to be recognized. It is my hope that we inspire young men to stand up and become role models to other young people, especially “at-risk” males. Our organization consists of community leaders, doctors, lawyers, engineers, business owners, laborers and pastors. It is great that there is such diverse representation in one organization. The hard work of these men, along with the support of Bradley County residents and our corporate sponsors, gives me the hope that our goals will be met. It is always good to help a child.
