FOURTH ANNUAL DINING WITH FRIENDS EVENT WILL BE HELD ON MAY 30
Berks Women in Crisis will hold its fourth annual Dining With Friends (DWF) fundraising event on Saturday, May 30, 2009. This year’s theme is “A Little Taste of Italy.”
Each year, BWIC supporters host dinners, barbeques, cocktail parties or pot luck suppers, large or small, at their homes on or near the DWF date. The individual parties are followed by a gala Dessert Reception where all attendees come together; featuring fabulous desserts donated by Lauren Ressler of La Petite Bouche, wine, beer and coffee, and a Chinese Auction. This year’s Dessert Reception will be held from 9:00 – 11:00PM at Fish Pond West, 100 Swiftwater Lane, in Leesport.
How can you get involved?
Host a party or dinner! Party hosts provide all food and drink for their own events. Hosts and hostesses will receive an information packet with helpful hints about all aspects of planning a successful party, including sample invitations, menu suggestions, and more. Expenses incurred by hosts are tax deductible; we will help you document them, and issue a letter for tax purposes. Hosts ask their guests to bring a donation to Berks Women in Crisis. (Suggested minimum: $50 per person.) All party guests who make donations receive a ticket to join the larger group at the Dessert Reception later that evening.
Donate a prize for the Chinese Auction! We are looking for items to be auctioned off at the Dessert Reception. Such items include gift certificates for goods and services, gift items, and handmade craft items. If you know of an individual, restaurant, service-provider, or artist who might be willing to make an auction item donation, please contact us.
Attend the Gala Dessert Reception! Even if you do not plan to host or attend one of the parties earlier in the evening, tickets are available to attend the Dessert Reception for $35 each.
