Summer 2008 Calendar of Events

CampPeaceWorks is scheduled for the week of June 23, Monday through Friday, at the Olivets Blue Mountain Camp. The camp is open to Berks County teenagers currently in 9th through 11th grades. For more information, contact PeaceWorks at 610.373.1206 or check out the "CAMPpeaceworks" section of our web.

Running from March through the end of August, Berks Women in Crisis will have a display in the Goggleworks. The display includes literature as well as a sampling of all our educational/public awareness exhibits like An Empty Place at the Table, The Clothesline Project, The Silent Witnesses and the Children's Art Project. Come to visit us at the Goggleworks in Suite 502, Saturdays and Sundays from Noon until 4 PM.

Berks Women in Crisis will be participating in the Western Berks Family Expo, sponsored by State Representative Jim Cox, and held at the Conrad Weiser Middle School off Route 422 in Robesonia on Saturday, September 6th. We will be one of about 40 agencies and organizations who will participate in this event designed to provide various types of health and wellness information to the residents of Robesonia and surrounding communities. Please join us as we will have a children's activity as well as our information table for teens and adults and a photo display. This is a good time to inquire about volunteering for our agency or our upcoming training in September. The event begins at 10 AM and ends at 2 PM so get there early so you can see everything! We look forward to see you there!

We will also participate in a Teen Wellness Fair, scheduled for Saturday, September 27, but the location and specific times are still in the works! This event, geared towards youth who desire to take an active part in their schools and communities, will combine information tables as well as presentations. Our PeaceWorks educators will present two topics in the morning and two in the afternoon.
