Quote of the Month: "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do." - Jesus Christ Next Saturday, April 7 - Your Miracle Awaits Click here to attend "Destination Peace" Special Event Click here for a brief promo Turning the Tide... Peace & Freedom Hello Dear Friends, These are times to celebrate. March 21 not only marked the first day of spring, but also the Persian New Year, known as "Navroz." For this holiday, I spent time with my parents and my siblings in Vancouver, Canada. And I must say I found it so heartwarming that on this momentous occasion, we did not talk about the grief surrounding my son Tariq's death, nor did we look longingly at an empty chair at the dinner table. Rather, we spoke of all the good and healing work that has been done in Tariq's name.
I found it incredible that an entire family has been able to reach such a deep level of forgiveness, release and healing, and to be able to take such an event as his passing and refocus its energy into something as meaningful as the work done through the Tariq Khamisa Foundation (TKF). Through TKF's work with youngsters - ensuring that our youth make the peaceful choices - and the work done through my keynote speeches and workshops, both children and adults have been inspired towards forgiveness and nonviolent principles. And it's no secret that these principles are so desperately needed in today's society. The purpose of this newsletter and this healing work is not to continue to retell one man's story, but to inspire you to have the gift of peace, and to - if necessary - look at your own personal relationships and determine if there are any divisions to mend. If you would like the tools, guidance or support along these lines, you'll be happy to know of my one-day intensive on the Easter weekend, Saturday, April 7. Although I'm a Muslim, I still recognize that Easter marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who, in my opinion, embodies the spirit of forgiveness. The timing of the event is purposeful and could be timely for you and your loved ones, no matter the denomination. Please feel free to join us for this special event, one of only two scheduled in San Diego this year. The opportunity exists: an opportunity to mend an estranged relationship, an opportunity to enhance and deepen a significant relationship. A space will be created. You will be welcomed in ... and welcomed home, to a place of healing and wholeness that comes through the miracle found in true forgiveness. Something, indeed, to celebrate. Many Blessings, Azim N.
